Open a COM port

To reach the Impact Fax Server Administrator login, open a web browser and type localhost:1172 as a regular website. Enter the password, and click on the 'Submit' button. The Fax Server Administration page appears. All general information about the server can be found on this Main page. To open a COM port, go to the Fax Ports and Channels > Open/Close. Click on the appropriate COM port.
NOTE: If the desired COM port is not displayed, make sure that the port is not in use by any other
application ( even if an application is closed it could still be using the port ) All the settings found on this page are optional.
The required defaults are automatically set, and no changes needed.
Descriptions for each item can be found in the Help documentation. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the 'Open' button to open the COM port. The user will be redirected to the Main page.
Go to the Fax Ports and Channels > Open/Close and the user can see if the COM port opened successfully.
