The compact PDF file format is now available in BiBatchConverter and Document Converter Server. The compact PDF file format significantly reduces the PDF file size produced by the Black Ice printer drivers by 50-70%!!!!!!

A reduced PDF file size will improve the ability to transfer files, reduce the amount of space needed to store/achieve documents and allow for an overall easier management of document on the network.

The file size reduction is the most noticeable when converting to one and two page PDF documents.

The Compact PDF file format is not recommended for NONE Latin character based fonts such as Arabic and vertical text in the Asian fonts. The Compact PDF file format is also not recommended when the PDF document requires sophisticated and precise text layout rendering.

The Compact PDF file format will be beneficial in situations such as; emailing, database application and high volume document conversion environment, where file size is critical.

The Document Converter Server release also includes some user interface changes to improve usability and ensure a seamless installation.
