A new Text Search feature is now available in version 11.90 of the Tiff Viewer. The search feature allows for better user experience and for an enhanced document workflow, reducing document processing times and leading to improved productivity among users.

In work environments where hundreds of large documents need to be processed manually, the search option could increase efficiency, greatly improve productivity, all while reducing user error. Users can utilize the search feature to quickly locate key information that they wish to apply common annotations to. For example, a user is now able to search a scanned electronic document for a Social Security Number, Patient Name, Case Number, Credit Card, or Invoice Number to apply common annotation like redaction or time-stamp to the results. In a future releases there will even be the option to automatically apply these common annotations to all the search results.

For companies using PDF, a typically cited advantage of using PDF over Tiff is the ability to easily search PDF documents for keywords. With the release of search in the latest Black Ice Tiff Viewer, this is no longer the case. System Administrators no longer have to settle for the less secure file format of PDF just to help improve productivity for their users.
