The latest IceViewer version 1.16 now supports opening and editing PDF, TIFF and other documents! The latest IceViewer combined with the Black Ice Printer Drivers offers users the ability to upload TIFF and PDF documents to the IceViewer with a single click; without the document ever touching the local disc drive of the PC!

Administrators/Users can configure the Printer Driver to upload PDF, TIFF and other documents to a User Folder, Public Folder, or to the IceViewer database even when printing directly from a web-based EMR application such as eClinicalWorks!

The IceViewer and printer drivers are a well-integrated solution providing a seamless workflow for passing document from workstations to the IceViewer repository server.

The Black Ice Virtual printer driver provides a simple solution by converting the printed document in memory and upload the document to the IceViewer Web Server though HTTPS secure protocol. The PDF or TIFF file created by the printer driver is never written to the local disk drive allowing this to be a fully HIPAA compliant solution. This helps to manage risk and ensure compliance by preventing users from having any access to the document.

The Printer driver can be pre-configured to upload to the IceViewer during Installation using the MSI installer for large scale deployment or it can be configured manually after installation by selecting the IceViewer-Upload-in-Memory profile.

Please note, that the latest IceViewer version 1.16 supports opening only Image PDF documents, therefore when uploading a vector PDF, the IceViewer will automatically convert the document to an Image PDF.
