Black Ice Software has released version 1.32 of the Document Converter Server! The latest Document Converter Server now includes support for monitoring network folders using a UNC path! Administrators can now configure the latest Document Converter Server to monitor a shared network folder on another computer on the network, and convert the incoming files.

What are UNC paths?
The Microsoft Windows UNC, short for Universal Naming Convention or Uniform Naming Convention, specifies a common syntax to describe the location of a network resource, such as a shared file, directory, or printer. For example: //MYSERVER/FILES

Using a UNC paths allows Administrators and Users to process documents from a centralized folder, preventing the need to copy the documents to the local computer where the Document Converter Server is installed. Using a network folder decreases the chance for alterations being made to documents prior to being converted, while also streamlining workflows.

Additionally, the most recent Document Converter Server includes minor user interface improvements to the Document Converter Server Service Manager.
