When printing from Microsoft Word the paper size of the output file sometimes does not match the printer settings. For example, if the printer is set to Legal paper size but the document is Letter paper size, the document prints in Letter paper size.
The cause of the problem is that Microsoft Word only prints in the paper size of the document. So, if the document’s paper size is letter, the output will be in letter as well, regardless of the printer paper size settings.
To set the paper size to “Legal” in Microsoft Word, please navigate to Page Layout > Size > Legal.
