Embed Annotation

 

Enable this option to add an annotation text to the printed image. The annotation can contain a user-defined text, the date and the time. The position of the text, the type, the color and the size of the font used to print the annotation, and the format of the date and time can also be specified.

·         Text string - Specifies a user-definable string that appears in the annotation text. The annotation text can contain any ASCII characters and field definitions. Fields are marked with the << >> character pair. The following fields are supported:

 

The total length of the annotation string (including the length of the fields) can be 128 characters. Longer text is cut.

For example, to specify the name of the printing user and the IP address of the printing machine, use the following annotation text:

User name is: <<USERNAME>>, IP Address is: <<IPADDRESS>>.

Refer to the Troubleshooting section if there is any trouble using the fields in the annotation text fields.

 

·         Add Annotation to the first page only – If this option is enabled, the configured annotation will be applied to the first page of every printed document.

·         Separator - Specifies a character or text that separates the annotation text, the date, and the time.

·         Font selection - This option sets the font that is used to print the annotation.

·         Color – This option sets the color that is used to print the annotation.

·         Date - When this checkbox is checked, the current date is added to the annotation. The format of the date can be one of the following:

MM/DD/YYYY: for example, 09/12/2002
M/D/YY: for example, 9/12/02
DD/MM/YYYY (European): for example, 12/09/2002
DD-MON-YYYY: for example, 09-SEPT-2002
YYYYMMDD: for example, 20020912
Julian date: Displays the Julian date, for example, 2452530.1399537036

 

·         Time - When this checkbox is checked, the current time is added to the annotation. The format of the time can be one of the following:

12 hour: The time is displayed in the 12-hour format, for example, 5:00PM.
24 hour: The time is displayed in the 24-hour format, for example, 17:00.
Minutes: Minutes are displayed in the annotation.
Seconds: Seconds are displayed in the annotation.
Time zone: The time zone is displayed in the annotation.

·         Annotation mode - This option sets the mode of how the annotation is added to the page. The following options are supported:

o   Transparent: The annotation’s background is transparent.

o   Opaque: The annotation’s background is opaque.

·         Preview annotation text - This field displays how the annotation looks based on the current settings.
