Use the “Generate output in memory” option to write the PDF/TIFF file in memory instead of creating a file on the disk. The printer driver creates the file in memory and then passes the data to the user’s application, which can save or process the PDF/TIFF file.
The “Generate output in memory” can be used with “Open printed document using IceViewer” to open (in memory) Tiff/PDF documents for viewing.
To capture the generated output file in memory, one can use the Memory Image Capture Sample in the Resource Toolkit. This feature is designed for system integrators to capture printed outputs directly into a database, bypassing the local storage (file system).
This feature is also used in a secure environment like law enforcement, legal, and hospitals to View PDF & TIFF documents.
This option is available for the following file formats:

When this option is enabled, the printer driver does not generate a group file, and the text extraction and mail merge features are also disabled.
