Print2Email 11.95 is released! | ||||
Microsoft is ending support for “Basic SMTP Authentication” starting October 1st, 2022 for all their online emailing services, including Outlook.com, Exchange Online, and Office365 Online. Microsoft will be requiring all apps to use their more secure OAuth 2.0, which is an industry-standard protocol for authorization. Black Ice Software added support for OAuth 2.0 with the release of Print2Email version 11.95 on September 1, 2022. If you are using your personal or work Microsoft Outlook.com account with Print2Email version 11.94 or earlier you must download the latest release and update the software before October 1st, 2022 to continue using the Print2Email with Outlook.com. By using the more secure OAuth 2.0 authorization, the Print2Email can authenticate the user directly through Microsoft’s servers, which means that Outlook account passwords are no longer stored on the computer. The new OAuth 2.0 authorization in the Print2Email also comes with further security advantages, such as support for Two-Factor authentication for Outlook.com accounts. When allowing permission for the Print2Email to use your Outlook.com account for email sending, please make sure to accept the required permissions on the Outlook.com consent screen.
