The Broadcast.log is generated every time a fax broadcast transmission is started, regardless of whether it was successful or not. At the start of the broadcast, all recipients in the group will be listed in the log. When a fax has been successfully sent to a recipient, their entry in the Broadcast.log will be automatically deleted and then entered in the Success.log. At the end of the broadcast, the Broadcast.log will only contain the unsuccessful fax attempts. The Name, Company, Fax Number, and Error type will be displayed for each fax that was unsuccessful. It can be edited with a word processor or can be loaded with the Load Last Broadcast Log or with the Load Broadcast Log menu items of the Statistics menu. The following dialog will appear:
The top part of the window will display the date and time that the fax broadcast was started as well as the total number of items in the list (useful for long lists).
You can sort the items by clicking the header button of each column. By default, the original orientation of the items is based on the time the fax was sent. Please Note: If you click any of the header buttons, you can never return to the original or default sort state.
The items can be selected (more than one at a time) and deleted by pressing the Delete button. To save the edited results, press the Save As button. A standard save file dialog box will appear, where you can type a new name for the log file or accept the old one. If you resorted the items after you opened the dialog box, the items will be saved as they appear on the screen.
To close the dialog box, press the Close button.
The edited log can be imported into a Fax List with the Fax List Management menu Import menu item. When the dialog is displayed, press the Fill with default button. You should specify (select or type) a group name in the Add records to group edit box in order to import the records directly to this group. You can then broadcast your fax again to this new group.
See the Import Fax List section of this manual for more information.
