Black Ice Software has released printer driver version 16.22.512 including several improvements for the PDF, PDF/A and Linearized PDF file formats, such as Appending documents to Adobe PDF files. The FrameRgn GDI function is implemented in PDF and PDF/A file formats that produce high quality drawings for certain objects.

One of the new features is for System administrators or Users who are sharing out the Printer Driver from a server to client workstations. When the Administrator configures the Printer Driver, the setting/configuration is saved automatically to System account. This simple new feature greatly reduces human error by eliminating, a not obvious, but critical configuration step of Saving the Printer Driver configuration for every user on the “Administrator Tab.”

It is little known fact, even for IT managers that the shared out printer drivers executes under the System account of the server. In addition, many user based applications also print under the system account. The System account automatically receives the default configuration of the Printer Driver during installation. Any changes after installation has to be applied to the System account just like any User Accounts.
