Black Ice Software has released Printer Driver version 16.27 with support for extra-large paper sizes!
Windows normally limits the standard paper sizes to no larger than 327 cm, 3276 mm. The largest predefined standard paper size in Windows is B0 designed for engineering or physical plotter printers. There is, however, a way around Windows legacy limitation of 327 cm and one can now add custom paper sizes up to 3276 cm, 1290 inches or 99999x99999 pixels!
The addition of extra-large paper sizes is ideal for those involved in Engineering drawing, Graphic design, Graphic modeling, Geology, Mapping, Aero Space, Oil Drilling industries and more.
Most windows application, such as Microsoft Office applications, will ignore the extra-large paper as these applications do not support extra-large paper sizes. There are a few specialized applications such as AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Foxit Reader, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Notepad that can handle extra-large paper sizes.
Black Ice Software has also included in release 16.27 of the Printer Driver some small but important improvements to the new and recently added Upload to M-Files feature of the printer driver.
Black Ice Software’s Paper size limitations for 64-bit systems:
| PDF Compact: | Limitation is: 32760x32760 mm / 1289.76x1289.76 inches and equivalent resolutions. Note, Adobe Acrobat Reader is limited to open PDF files with paper size less than 5080x5080 mm / 200x200 inch. To open PDF files with paper size larger than 200 inches, one can use Foxit reader or Microsoft Edge. |
| TIFF Monochrome: | Limitation is with photo quality disabled: 65536x65536 pixels / 5548.7x5548.7 mm / 218.33x218.33 inches. |
| PDF Image: | Limitation is: 32768x32768 pixels / 2774.4x2774.4 mm / 109.23x109.23 inches. Length can be up to 65536 pixels / 5548.7 mm / 218.33 inches. |
