Compact PDF is now available in version 15.45 of the Printer Driver. The compact PDF file format significantly reduces the PDF file size produced by the Black Ice printer drivers by 50-70%!!!!!!

A reduced PDF file size will improve the ability to transfer files, reduce the amount of space needed to store documents and allow overall easier document management system.

The file size reduction is the most visible with one and two page PDF documents.

The Compact PDF file format is not recommended for NONE Latin character based fonts such as Arabic and vertical text in the Asian fonts. Also Compact PDF file format is not recommended when the PDF document requires sophisticated and precise text layout rendering.

The Compact PDF file format could be useful in emailing, database application, and high volume document conversion environment, where file size is critical.

Important note for customers who are using the Auto-print SDK to convert document to PDF file format; to utilize the Compact PDF file format, one must update the Auto-print SDK to version 15.45.
