Printing Options

Black Ice Printer Drivers offer a multitude of printing options inside the File Formats tab.
The user can configure how the output is handled, the output can be disabled or generated only in the memory. The printed pages can be manipulated, flipped and printed into separate files.

Save each page as separate file

Generate output in memory

Flip page(s) vertically

Checking this option will cause the driver to print documents vertically flipped. This option is available for all file formats including PDF.

Flip page(s) horizontally

Checking this option will cause the driver to print documents horizontally flipped. This option is available for all file formats including PDF.

Print page(s) inverted

Checking this option will cause the driver to print documents in inverted. This option is available only for monochrome file formats (1 bit color depth) .

Remove blank pages

If the Remove blank pages option is enabled, the Printer Driver will remove blank pages from the printed document.

If the document that is printed is a single blank page, there will be no output file generated by the printer driver.

Disable output file

Check this option to disable the output file generation setting of the driver. This can be useful when the ‘Generate Text Output’ radio button is checked for text output and the image file is not needed. As a result, the driver will only generate a text file, no other output file will be generated.

Unicode/Eastern char. Support

When this option is checked, the driver will interpret the contents of strings printed using the TextOut function as two-byte glyph indexes. This is necessary to correctly print characters of most non-US (Chinese, Japanese, etc.) versions of Windows 11/10/8/7. In this case, the characters printed are not valid one-byte ASCII values. The driver cannot save text files of any kind, therefore the Generate Text Output, Add font information, position and style, and Mail Merge options will be disabled.
