The Impact Fax Broadcast can be used with a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) line but will require a digital to analog voice line converter adapter such as the Grandstream Analog telephone adapter. There are many other manufactures who offer analog converter devices for faxing over VoIP liens such as Cisco SPA122 2 Port FXS Analog Gateway. Most inexpensive analog Fax devices such as fax modems (internal and external) require traditional PSTN phone lines and without the analog converter theses fax devises will not work. The fax device will make the call and connect to the receiver fax device but the fax transmission will fail.
What is VoIP?
Voice over Internet Protocol (or VoIP) is also known as Internet calling, IP telephony, voice over network and Internet telephony. Whatever you call it, VoIP uses your Internet connection to make calls or send faxes. Your voice and fax is transmitted as data over the Internet.
